  The following is an excerpt from Subramania Bharati - Patriot and Poet by Professor P. Mahadevan.  On the question of widow remarriage, Bharati crosses swords with the Mahatma himself, and shows up his (Gandhiji's) suggestion as a cure worse than the disease. For Gandhiji had said that the evil (as he considered it!) could be solved by prohibiting the remarriage of men. Bharati says in his most pleasant tone that it is a counsel of perfection, and that none was likely to follow it.
